Investment Committee

A formal monthly meeting of the investment committee is held to discuss the state of each holding and each new idea.

One week before the meeting, each member of the investment committee receives a packet of information on each current holding and new idea. The information package includes proprietary matrix that contains the following data: earnings surprises, earnings estimates, market cap, revenues, return on capital, growth rates, a valuation score, a technical score, and an earnings momentum score. This allows us to compare the apples to apples data between current holdings and new ideas.

A strategy for any possible trades is planned, and adherence to our sector and social responsibility guidelines are discussed. Sector weightings must not exceed two times the sector weighting of the corresponding index, and we may hold a zero weighting in any sector without a new idea.

Implementation of the strategy is then completed within the next month.

Alex Ramos Vice President, Director of Research Alex’s responsibilities include quantitative, fundamental, and technical research. He conducts the screening for new earnings momentum ideas, and prepares the statistics used for the investment committee meetings. He monitors trading and the maintenance of our social responsibility guidelines. Additionally, he has been an integral part of the ongoing refinement of our investment process.

Reginald D. Dickson Chairman of the Board & Majority Owner As a member of the investment committee, Reginald primarily focuses on corporate governance issues as it relates to potential and existing trends steering the company towards financial success. He assesses the strength of the management team and views the policies in place within the company. He also closely follows how a company fits within our social responsibility guidelines.

Tracie Gregory Research/Client Consultant Liaison As a member of the investment committee, Tracie reviews significant news events that may affect a company’s future revenue stream. She identifies and monitors the earnings momentum catalysts in our holdings and new ideas. She also follows trends for each holding and its corresponding industry.
